discover some of the most important art’s styles. Remember, the
style can be used in two ways:
1)It can refer to the distinctive visual elements, techniques
and methods that personify an individual artist's work.
2)It can also refer to the movement or faction that an artist
is associated with.
The artist's epoch have influence in the style of their
works, you can appreciate these characteristics in the majority
of painters.
a.-ABSTRACT: It is
considered abstract art to the representation of subjective
reality and objects that surround it. It is also regarded as
the reproduction of an illusion. Abstract art focuses on
expressing the interior form of an object rather than the
pictorial representation. The overstatement of the ways is one
of the main features of these paintings.

b.-BAROQUE: This is one of the most dominant
artistic periods of antiquity. These paintings represent the
movement to produce more drama to the paintings. It is a period
that started approximately at the beginning of the 17th century
in Rome, Italy. There were highly diverse strands of Italian
baroque painting, from Caravaggio to Cortona; both artists with
different styles. Over time the Baroque style evolved and was
transformed into rococo.

c.-CUBISM: This style revolutionized painting
and sculpture's European at the beginning of the twentieth
century. Cubism shows objects at various angles. This provides
different aspects when they are observed simultaneously. Cubism
is divided into three stages. Early Cubism (1906 - 1908) by
Picasso and Braque. High Cubism (1909 - 1914) with Juan Gris
and finally the Late Cubism (1914 - 1921) with Cooper.

d.-EXPRESSIONISM: This art’s style is the tendency of
an artist to deform and exaggerate reality for an emotional
effect; it’s a subjective art form. Expressionism is exhibited
in several art forms such as painting, theatre, literature,
film, architecture and music. The term expressionism is
referred mainly to works of the 20th century. Fantasy is widely
used in expressionist paints.

e.-IMPRESSIONISM: The Impressionism in France had its
main peak during last years of 19th century and the beginning
of 20th century. The impressionism is characterized by its
precision and objectivity, thus giving a better visual record
thanks to the effects of light and color. The appearance of
Impressionism in the visual arts was rapidly followed by
similar movements in other media which became known as the
impressionistic music and literature impressionist.

f.-NEOCLASSICISM: The different movements related to
decoration, visual arts, literature, music, architecture and
theatre are considered as neoclassicism. This movement had its
heyday in Italy in mid 18th to the end of the 19th century.
Neoclassicism arose partly as a reaction against the sensuous
and frivolously decorative Rococo style that had dominated
European art from the 1720s on.

g.-ROMANTICISM: Romanticism
is an artistic, intellectual and literary movement that
originated in the second half of the 18th century in Europe and
gained force during the Industrial Revolution. This period is
also renowned for its elevation of the achievements of what it
perceived as heroic individuals and artists. It followed the
illustration period and was inspired by a revolt against
aristocratic social and political norms from the preceding
epoch.
